When I don’t do my job and share my skills and knowledge with our clients, I like to watch good movies, travel to new destinations and get know to different cultures for food, coffee and people.
My name is Mihkel and I’ve been working at Paulig as a barista for almost three years. When I don’t do my job and share my skills and knowledge with our clients, I like to watch good movies, travel to new destinations and get know to different cultures for food, coffee and people. I also like doing sports, especially running marathons in other countries. I also enjoy holding my camera and capturing the right moment.
I love being a barista because I love good coffee and getting to know people who are also passionate about coffee. At Paulig I’m inspired by our team’s love of and enthusiasm about good coffee and growing together, new projects and challenges. I have SCAE Barista Skills for all three levels (foundation, intermediate and professional), and I also have foundation skills in Brewing and Sensory Skills. I haven’t attended any barista competitions as a competitor or judge.
I studied the trumpet and flute at a music school for four years, but unfortunately I dropped out because I was more interested in football. Today I can only play “Mary Had a Little Lamb” on the flute and I didn’t become a footballer, either. ☺
Coffee superpower: I feel more self-confident about making coffee because before Paulig I worked as a barista for five years in a popular café.
Favorite coffee destination: I’m interested in African coffees because Africa is an unknown continent and I like the different nuances and rich and fruity tastes of African coffees. I’ve also discovered various speciality coffee shops when travelling, and they are now my destination in every country and city I visit.
