Hi, I’m Gediminas.  I have been working in the coffee business since 2013. Since then I’ve been a barista, technical manager, and now a coffee trainer in Lithuania. Coffee for me is not just a drink anymore, it is a passion and science. Being a barista is not just work, it is a lifestyle.
Before I started my journey in the coffee industry, I’ve been working in food factories, did refurbishments and been a babysitter 😊

A good friend of mine suggested to apply for a barista position at specialty café in Lithuania. For that I am truly grateful, because when I was a child, I wanted to be a barman and loved to cook. I think that being barista is a combination of both. As Confucius once said: “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life” I guess that is exactly what I did!

Besides being barista, I love cycling (I mean it; I can ride for 150km in one go with no problems), listen music, socialize  outdoors, and take photos. I also participated in  the National Barista Championship in 2015 & 2016.  And National Cupping Championship in 2015 & 2016.

Fun Fact: Once I cycled about 240km in 14h. Had to stop 2 times to use toilet, 1 time to eat 1 chicken breast and take a nap of 3-4 hours. I drank about 2 liters of water, and stopped about 5 times to make chemex that I took with me, and I drank about 3 liters of coffee. So yes, coffee is more important to me than water and rest. 😉

Coffee superpower: I can make chemex and then pour it in two cups (split pour) at the same time, while cycling. Boom! What do you think is it super power now?  😊

Favorite coffee destination: Wherever I find  good coffee and nice people to talk with - that is my favorite coffee destination. But in the future, I hope to visit in  Brazil, São Sebastião Da Grama, South of Minas region, located Rainha farm. Because first yellow bourbon coffee that I tried was from there. And since then I have fallen in love with it.
